It’s easy to stay busy.

You might think you’re on the right path since you’re putting in the work every single day into your business. While this is good, it’s not enough.

It’s not enough to just work hard.

You need to work hard on the right things.

If you feel like you’re putting in the work but are making zero progress, chances are that you’re not focused on the work that actually matters.

We’re here to move the needle forward.

What does this even mean? We’re going to focus our efforts on activities that actually grow our business.

I define growth as continuously getting more clients or retaining clients and selling more to them.

Clients are the life of your business. They give you money, and you use that money to survive and grow your business. That’s it. It makes sense that the most important activities we do are things that move the needle forward.

 

Things that don’t move the needle forward

  • Updating your portfolio for the 10th time
  • Updating your website over and over
  • Perfecting 1 piece of content to post on Instagram each week
  • Commenting on a brand’s content, hoping they’ll notice you
  • Drafting 5 different emails, trying to find the perfect one, and never actually sending it

 

Things that move the needle forward

  • Cold emailing prospects
  • Practicing sales calls and scripts
  • Posting 5 pieces of decent content on Instagram each week
  • Following up with cold emails
  • Creating proposals
  • Following up with proposals
  • Finding prospects and their contact info

 

Each of the things that move the needle forward has a direct correlation with the number of clients you’ll get. The first list doesn’t.

Focus your energy on the things that will help your business grow in 2023.
